Sunday Preview

Life is hard, and being a Christian does not make exempt us from challenges, difficulties or disappointments. Jesus said in John 16:33, “In this world you will have trouble;" and that statement has certainly been true since Genesis chapter 3. God’s people are always surrounded by the primary cause of evil: temptation. Temptation is not sin, but it does produce trouble & hardship, and when given into become sin with even greater, more horrific consequences. This is life; this is reality, and this is the challenge we ALL face at seemingly every moment of our existence. But what does this mean for a Christian? Do we have a hope, a deliverance from this burden of struggle, or are we in the same boat to suffer the same fate as the non-Christian?

Looking back at the words of Jesus in John 16:33, Jesus not only confirmed the difficulty of living in this world, but He made the defining statement that distinguishes Christian suffering from that of the world’s. “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Being a Christian does not exempt us from trial, but it does give us a way out of suffering in its effects.

Join us this Sunday as we examine the life of Isaac and Rebekah. Here we will see a young couple blessed by God, but struggling in some of the most extreme circumstances. How will they respond? Will the behave like their parents, or will they turn to God in faith? Will God deliver out of the trial, or will He sustain them through the trial? Why must this life be so hard?

Good questions demand good answers. See you Sunday at 10am!
