Jacob's Prayer Pledge

Please do not forget what we learned this week in Genesis 32. Jacob was helpless against his fears and sins, leaving him nothing to do but wait for death. In desperation and despair, however, he called on the name of the Lord and was comforted.

As we go forward, may we always set aside time to pray. Not as an attempt to find "inner peace" or win the favor of God, but rather to simply acknowledge that we need God in our lives. He alone is capable of saving us, our families, and our enemies. Prayer brings life!

Join with me as we begin to incorporate prayer into our very existence. Rather than make it a familiar, insensitive or ignorant chore, commit with me to make (and keep) it communion with God.

Starting today, commit to set aside 10-mins. to pray, praying a personal four-fold prayer like Jacob.
  • 1- Call on the Name of Jesus
  • 2 - Confession/Repentance
  • 3 - Petition
  • 4 - Confidence/Benediction
If you get stuck, ask for help; but, please don't quit!
