Over the next 3 weeks FHCC will be examining the Gifts of the Spirit as described in I Cor. 12-14. This a very important, and often misunderstood, portion of Scripture that MUST be understood if the church is ever going to radically change a world or community for Jesus.
Therefore, IF you have a question, comment or concern about this portion of Scripture; please FIRE AWAY. Every question asked on this blog WILL BE ADDRESSED during our Sunday services from now until August 10th, 2008.
And, of course; you can post ANONYMOUSLY.
5 comments:
1. How do we uncover our spiritual gifts?
2. How do spiritual gifts differ from our natural talents (which may have been acquired by training)?
3. How do we use our spiritual gifts when we are challenged by illness and bereavement?
Grace,
GREAT questions. be sure to be with us this Sunday, Aug. 3rd. as we ANSWER all of these questions.

Can our spiritual gifts be in a state of flux over the course of our lives? Can we recover a gift we may have had decades ago?
God loves us and wants to bestow His gifts upon us and speak to us when we pray to Him, but the enemy hates us and is always trying to use his trickery to draw us away from God. How do I know whether it is God speaking to me, or the Devil using his trickery to speak to me and mislead me?
Alice, GREAT Question!!! So many people have often asked this question, not just about spiritual gifts, but about every "spiritual" affair. While it may seem like a really complicated matter; it really isn't.
Satan hates God, the church, and you. Jesus, however, loves the Father, His church, and YOU and has given us HIS WORD to prove it.
Anytime we receive a revelation, wisdom, advice, etc. regarding our lives or our faith, WE MUST take it back to Scripture and cross-examine it. If the word/revelation does NOT glorify God, His church, or His mission to SAVE lost people; it is certainly not from God.
Everything must DIRECTLY glorify God, if it is from God.
Also, if there is ever a doubt; go to your pastor. God consistently tells us in His word to "gather together." This large gathering protects us from being led astray, and brings unity and comfort to every believer who is out there living in the world. "Iron sharpens iron" (and keeps it sharp!
